The most common car lockout we attend involves keys being locked inside the boot or on the front seat — usually after the driver has been carrying shopping, juggling a phone, or distracted by a child. Modern central locking systems engage automatically, so a single moment of inattention can leave you outside the vehicle.

Smart key vehicles introduce a different scenario. The key fob loses battery power without warning, leaving the car unable to detect it. In this situation the vehicle still has a mechanical backup procedure, but most drivers do not know how to access it. Our technicians do, and we bring fresh fob batteries on every callout.

Faulty central locking is a third cause. A failing actuator or a weak car battery can trigger the locking system unexpectedly. We diagnose the cause on site and either resolve it or refer you to a vehicle electrician if the fault is electrical rather than mechanical.

Modern vehicles are far more difficult to open without damage than cars from twenty years ago — weather seals are tighter, door internals are more cluttered, and electronic interlocks prevent simple bypass methods.
